A 14 mm resolution curtain and a 30 mm resolution curtain are not interchangeable on the same opening. The larger the resolution, the closer the curtain can typically be mounted, but the less it detects fingers rather than hands.
Safety distance also depends on the machine stopping time and the response time of the whole safety chain, including the relay. The calculation should be done before the mounting brackets are fixed, because moving a curtain afterwards usually means re-drilling the guard.
